Zorzettig Franconia Venezia Giulia IGT 2020

Six generations of the Zorzettig family have tended their vineyards in the Friuli region since 1874. They currently have 100 hectares, with their vineyards nestled in the eastern hills (Colli Orientali) just outside the UNESCO heritage town of Cividale del Friuli.

Committed to sustainability, biodiversity, and integrated farming, the Zorzettig estate includes wildflowers and beekeeping in its environs. Respecting the typical characteristics of each variety, the winery strives for balanced refinement and integrity in its wines.

Visitors can book accommodations at Relais La Collina for a relaxing country escape overlooking the Zorzettig vineyards and beautiful rolling hills.

Grape Varieties: 100% Franconia.

Origin: The hills of eastern Friuli (Colli Orientali).

Aging: 8 months, 80% in steel, 20% in French oak barriques. Ageing continues for a few months in the bottle.

Alcohol: 12.5%.

Tasting Notes: Fresh and soft, very pleasant. This wine has a sweet finish, dominated by sweet notes of plum and black cherry, accompanied by hints of mallow.

Food Pairing: Roasted white or red meat, grilled vegetables, cheeses and dry pastries, pizza Margherita.

Serving Temperature: 14°C. Chilling this wine is recommended to fully experience its lovely tasting profile.

Cellaring Potential: 3-5 years, according to the winery.
