Sacco Barolo DOCG 2019

Barolo is often referred to as “the king of wines.” This austere and complex wine has potential for long aging. It is recommended that the bottles be laid down in a cool, airy place, protected from all sources of light and far from noises and vibrations.

This Barolo is brought to you by the Rocca multigenerational winemaking family, with its roots in Puglia. In 2009, they joined forces with the Dezzani winemaking family of Piemonte. Founded in 1934, Dezzani has access to some of the best vineyards in Monferrato and in Langhe, where the Barolo apellation is situated.

The motto of the Rocca winemaking family is: “Five generations, one passion, great Italian wines!”

GRAPE VARIETIES: 100% Nebbiolo.

ORIGIN: Langhe, Piemonte region, northern Italy.

AGING: Aged in large oak barrels for 2 years and then 3 to 6 months in bottles.

ALCOHOL: 14%.

TASTING NOTES: Deep ruby red colour. Intense aromas of red fruits, violets and other floral notes. Full bodied, dry, harmonious and velvety, with flavors of forest fruits, truffles, licorice, and tar. Spicy notes on the elegant finish.

PAIRING: Suggestions include beef or veal dishes with wild mushrooms or truffles, risotto or pasta with porcini mushrooms and/or a hearty, flavorful sauce; and old, strong, richly flavored cheeses.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18° to 22°C (room temperature or a bit lower).

SERVING TIP: Uncorking the wine and allowing it to breathe for at least one hour before serving will enhance your tasting experience.
